Climbing
Definition: Alpinism is the art of going through the mountains confronting the greatest dangers with the biggest of cares. What we call art here, is the application of a knowledge to an action.
My life is very exciting now. Nostalgia for what? It’s like climbing a staircase. I’m on my way to the top of the staircase, I look behind and see the steps. That’s where I was. We’re here right now. Tomorrow, we’ll be someplace else. So why nostalgia ?
l started climbing with plastic shoes almost 7 years ago, taking lessons, camping and climbing weekends. At the beginning it was like just fun sort of leisure activity. When winter climbing course started, weather was getting minus 10-15, it was not climbing it was getting extreme sport and then l realised that lets do it professional. l became one of the teaching assistant. Couple of years past we were going to mountain every weekend. it was desperately addiction. Eventually, l was awarded to teacher positon (youngest teacher), was 21 years old, have been nearly all mountains in Turkey, ice walls, winter climbing, rock climbing. Once upon a time, we went to competition which was being selecting turkish national climbing team.
